Holidays

Top ten things I love about the holidays:

] Snow. I generally hate snow. Every so often, however, I realize how beautiful it really is and that I love the way it crunches under my feet.

] Christmas Sweaters. Especially teacher's Christmas sweaters. I think when I become a teacher, I'll wear one once a year just for fun.

] City Christmas Lights. All the trees and street lamps look so pretty covered in strings of lights. It makes me want to put on my hat and a scarf and stroll around downtown.

] Month long break from classes. Do I really need to say more?

] Giving presents. There's nothing more exciting that finding the perfect gift for someone. Even if it's small, even if it's a piece of paper, it's something that shows you care for that person.

] Receiving presents. If you are one of those people who say you don't like getting presents for Christmas, you need to stop lying. You're making all of us look bad.

] Christmas Music. It makes everything better. It makes my shifts at work go so much faster, even though the station never plays my favorite:

] Christmas Trees. I love coming home to see a lighted tree in the window. Now that I have a real tree for the first time in years, it's even better. The whole house smells delightful.

] The Nutcracker. I finally get to see the ballet this year for the first time since high school. It's one of my favorite things and I can't believe I've missed it so many years in a row.

] Going home to see family and friends. Whether I'm going to Vegas to see my dad or Pocatello to see my mom, I get to see people I love. And that's awesome.
